Curious Tuesday a la Gala

17 Aug

I was going to answer some sweet questions that Gala had for us today.

But this is what she had in store for us today:

1. How do you feel about marriage as a concept? Realistic? Romantic? A pipe-dream?
2. Do you think you’ll ever want to get married?
3. If you did get married, would you want a big blow-out celebration or would you keep it low-key?
4. If you are married now, how has that changed your relationship?
5. If you’re married, how did you celebrate it? Knowing what you know now, would you have done it differently?

Curious Wednesday

4 Aug

Recently a huge fan of Gala, as I’ve recently mentioned..and she posts Curious Tuesdays, and as my better late than never self, I’ve decided to participate (answers are decidedly longer than they would be if I had answered on her blog):

1.What is your style direction for the upcoming season?

Well, lucky me. I got to go shopping yesterday evening for some wonderful new clothes! As I spend the majority of my life in my office building, that’s what the goal was. Business appropriate attire. Sounds boring, no? No! I ended up with some gorgeous sheath dresses (right at or below the knee), pants that actually fit (you have no idea how HUGE this is to me! as, I’m not huge, I’m an incredibly odd small size…so pants = impossible unless they are taken up, in, up some more…etc.), a few gorgeous pencil skirts, cute tops, and a suit *gasp…I’m still not 100% sold on wearing this*. All in all, very nice, classy, looks. And what could possibly beat an evening with my mother? She is incredibly witty and entertaining, we had a blast.

To sum up I want these things: to stay warm (an impossible feat, convinced I have cold blood from growing up in the desert), to not feel boring (aka frumpy: because it gets colder, I layer..which leads to frumpy land) and to still feel/look cute.

Success on all points I say.

2.What is your favorite song right now?

Right now, this second, at 3:18:35, my favorite song is In The Next Room by Neon Trees. I heard this in San Diego for the first time. I downloaded almost everything they’ve ever recorded. I like it.

I also would like to regretfully inform everyone of the Nicki Manaj song, “Your Love”, has made its way onto my iPhone and as soon as humanly possible I would like it REMOVED.

3. What is your best love advice?

Be yourself. Be honest (with yourself too). Be patient. Appreciate the person you are with for exactly who they are. Take him on a date, they like it just as much as we do. Slow dance. Laugh together. I could go on..

4. Who is the most exciting person you’ve met recently?

It’s awful, but I have  to skip this question. Not saying those I’ve met aren’t exciting. I just haven’t met anyone…recently. I seriously am working on getting out more. Really. I signed up for a writing class! And working on finding a dance class! I’m determined to meet new people.

5. Are you doing anything wonderful this week? What is it?

In addition to my evening tonight, eating dinner with a friend and my Mr. (I’m making dessert!), I will be taking a much needed vacation from work. I’m off Friday and don’t return until the 16th. Beautiful. Ten full days of amazing sunny, relaxing, poolside, beach side, tanning, reading, margarita sipping Blissssss. I got myself a journal, which, I totally intend to write in every night every day until I forget about it completely when I have time to sit and gather my thoughts. That seems about right. (used to keep a journal, gave up awhile ago, making new attempt).

I had more to write! Swear! but…I’m getting out of here! sweet!

If you’d like, you can share your own answers with me here..or take them over to Gala. :)

Happy Wednesday, bellas!

Tuesday’s Food For Thought:

27 Jul

Totally unrelated. But I’ve been in that mind set for a few weeks now. Wanted to give you some inspiring food for thought:

“…make a radical change in your lifestyle and begin to boldly do things which you may previously never have thought of doing, or been too hesitant to attempt. So many people live within unhappy circumstances and yet will not take the initiative to change their situation because they are conditioned to a life of security, conformity, and conservation, all of which may appear to give one peace of mind, but in reality nothing is more damaging to the adventurous spirit within a man than a secure future. The very basic core of a man’s living spirit is his passion for adventure. The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun. If you want to get more out of life, you must lose your inclination for monotonous security and adopt a helter-skelter style of life that will at first appear to you to be crazy. But once you become accustomed to such a life you will see its full meaning and its incredible beauty.”
— Jon Krakauer (Into the Wild)

Creating Class

13 Jul

So Fall 2010. It is coming whether we like it or not and  I won’t tell you I’m ready, because I’m not. *yet*

What I am unexpectedly ready for though is the new hemline we’ll be reaching (hopefully) in a few months…and by reaching I means the hem line is dropping, *below the knee even!* and I have a secret love of skirts and dresses cut either at or right below the knee (added bonus if they are a-line) and I’m beyond beyond beyond thrilled.

How polished does Armani make it look?!

It’s clean, demure, and still fitted in every right place.

Who said you ever needed a bunch of leg to look sexy?

Gone Missing

12 Jul

Oops!

Been busy again with work and all…and lately my draft posts are filled with more than just pictures of pretty clothes…but I can’t press publish for some reason. I’m having commitment issues with this blog and would hate for it to get too personal and then have to break it off. haha.

A Monday Mix

28 Jun

It’s Monday! Which means, without a doubt, that tomorrow is Tuesday! I can’t waittt for Tuesday!

Been trying to keep myself busy: finally got my TV up off of the floor (did I mention that I moved??) and am now using it as a giant 42 inch monitor for my PC, got the internet working on my computer, realized I want must have the new iPhone 4 (mostly because I got the new update and I don’t get all of the new features…plus I want the front facing camera…and I’ve had my 3g for two years. pleaseplease?), downloaded far to much music, stalked the Vicki’s semi annual sale and had far too much fun, watched a TON of the world cup,  got a little more sun than I should, went to an auction strictly for the wine and cheese…the usual.

I really feel like a kid at Christmas waiting for tomorrow! My Mr. comes home from his almost month long trip to Africa! I really really just cannot wait to see him!

I have a few links for you to check out, things I thought were just wonderful, so move on to the next page to make your Monday go by just a little bit faster, not all are fashion related…just randoms for you :)

To clog? Or not to clog? That was my question.

22 Jun

I’ve been reading around all over the place, seeing them in stores, and some fashion bloggers are nuts over them (Thank you Karl Lagerfeld!)

But how do these make you feel???
